Electronic Gaming Monthly – December 2003
Where do ideas for articles come from? In some cases I come up with them and propose them to the magazine, or in other cases an editor at a magazine may approach me. In this case, my editor at EGM approached me about an article about collecting videogames. The following is the stream of emails from when my editor Crispin Boyer first approached me on February 8, 2001, through April 3, 2001 when I began writing the piece.
The piece I wrote and submitted was called COLLECTING THE CLASSICS and it appears here.
Time passed and the piece was never published. I think I got paid for it but I don’t remember for sure. Then the December 2003 edition was published and to my surprise there was a short piece in there in which I received co-authorship. Not exactly the piece I wrote but I’ll take it.
